Lead Browser Automation Engineer - Anti-Bot Specialist
About us
We build high-scale web data infrastructure that powers real-time insights for enterprise customers. Our data-plane crawlers run thousands of concurrent browser sessions, navigate modern bot protections, and collect structured data reliably and respectfully.
If you love low-level networking, browser internals, and outsmarting industrial anti-bot systems (ethically), you’ll fit right in.
The role (what you’ll own)
Design, build, and operate a high-parallel data-plane: distributed crawlers, session management, and robust proxy orchestration.
Implement and refine browser automation patterns using CDP (Chrome DevTools Protocol), WebRTC, and headful/headless stacks.
Research, prototype, and implement anti-bot bypass techniques while maintaining ethical and legal standards.
Build and integrate CAPTCHA solving/handling flows and session resilience logic.
Analyze and mitigate browser- and network-level fingerprinting signals (JA3, TLS, CDP surface, JS-based fingerprints).
Develop detection and telemetry to understand why crawls fail and design fixes that scale.
Collaborate with security, platform, and product teams to harden crawlers and maintain operational SLAs.
What we’re looking for
Strong hands-on experience with browser automation (CDP, Puppeteer, Playwright) at scale.
Deep practical understanding of HTTP, TLS, and HTTP/2 internals and how they affect fingerprinting and blocking.
Experience building and operating high-concurrency crawlers / data-plane systems (session pools, rate limiting, proxy rotations).
Proven experience analyzing and bypassing bot protection systems (Cloudflare, Akamai, Qrator, ServicePipe, Variti, etc.).
Familiarity with browser and network fingerprinting techniques (JA3, TLS fingerprinting, CDP/WebRTC surface).
Strong debugging skills (packet capture, browser traces, TLS flows) and an ability to translate findings into reliable engineering fixes.
Solid software engineering fundamentals: production code, testing, observability, and incident response.
Nice to have
Experience building or integrating CAPTCHA solvers / CAPTCHA orchestration.
Background in anti-bot research, red-team style testing, or security research publications / presentations.
Expertise with proxy networks, residential/IP pool management, or smart proxy selection algorithms.
Prior exposure to large distributed systems, Kubernetes, or service meshes used to scale crawlers.
Knowledge of WebRTC internals and how signaling/media flows can leak identifying signals.
What we offer
Work with a high-impact, security-minded engineering team solving genuinely hard problems.
International environment - asynchronous culture; occasional syncs for cross-region collaboration.
Competitive salary and equity.
Generous learning budget for conferences, courses, and research resources.
Opportunity to publish, present, and contribute to the anti-bot research community.
Equal opportunity & ethics
We operate ethically and comply with applicable laws. Candidates must be committed to responsible research practices and to protecting user privacy and site terms when designing crawling and bypass strategies.
